Why am I being asked my gender?
This isn’t a mandatory question for now, but it will be asked later in the process and we do understand that you may not identify as either male or female. However, many of the financial institutions we work with accept only one of these two options. We hope that this situation will change in time to reflect the needs of all the people who apply for a mortgage with us.
Number of dependants
These are people who live with you and are financially dependent on you, but won’t be named on the mortgage with you.
Indefinite leave to remain
In simple terms, this means: do you have a visa that allows you to buy a home and live in this country? If you are not a UK or EU citizen, please answer this question as ‘No’ and provide details of your visa in the notes section below.

This is where it gets exciting!
Tell us about the home you want to buy.
Choose 'Buy a new home' if you're looking to buy either a new-build or second hand home (this applies if you're using the Right to Buy [RTB] or Right to Acquire [RTA] schemes).
Choose ‘Review your existing mortgage' if your current mortgage deal is coming to an end.
Choose ‘Buy more of the property you already own’ if you’re looking to buy more shares in your current Shared Ownership home.
You'd like to buy a new home...
It’s because of the rules around giving the British Armed Forces priority access to Shared Ownership. See section 3.2.1 here for details: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/capital-funding-guide/1-help-to-buy-shared-ownership
Please enter the amount of money that you can pay towards the property up front.
If you're using Right To Buy or Right To Acquire, please only let us know about the deposit you have personally. We will gather the details of your discount directly from the Housing Association or Local Authority.
Finally, if you’re remortgaging or staircasing, enter the amount of equity that you’ve already built up in your existing share. (And if you’ve got any more money to add, enter this information in the ‘Any other information box’ at the end of the questionnaire.)
A new build property is one that is brand new and hasn’t been owned by anyone else. A resale property is one that someone else has lived in already.
You'd like to buy more of the property you already own...
You'd like to review your existing mortgage...
If your property is NOT Shared Ownership, enter 100%.
One final thing
